Over the past couple of weeks, the happenings around me have opened my eyes to a number of things. Not necessarily things I’ve never heard of but things that have become even more real to me. In no particular order, here are a few of those things,
- Be sensitive to the Spirit of God. At every point in time in our lives, it is important that we know what God is saying about every step we’re taking. If you don’t sense a release in your spirit, seek the Lord till He shows you what He’d rather have you do. Inviting God in every decision, no matter how small, makes for a better life is all aspects of the word. This includes places to go, things to do, projects to embark on and even businesses to invest in because in the end, you will only flourish in the places and things God has created for you to flourish in. Pray before you get into partnerships and relationships. Why go if you won’t go with God?
- Do NOT be unequally yoked! It might seem like its okay on the surface but trust me, its not. Like a man I greatly respect says, “Its okay for a bird and a fish to fall in love and want to get married, but the million dollar question is WHERE WOULD THEY LIVE?” The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” It might not seem this way on the outside but trust me, no matter how pretty the package, God’s instructions are crystal clear concerning this matter and it is definitely for your good.
- Listen to wise counsel! The Bible says “There is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof is destruction.” No truer words have been said/written. The same Word of God also says “…in the multitude of counsellors, there is safety.” Listen for instructions from God, and also take into consideration the advice you get from older adults especially those that have been placed in positions of authority over your life. Better to learn from them, their experiences – failures and successes, than go make your own.
If after all these, you still get burnt, thank God for the process The lessons learnt and the season you are in. Its a learning process thag will make fof a larger and incredibly beautiful picture. Do not wallow in the hurt or unforgiveness because it will most definitely hurt and it will be hard to let go but more than anything, TRUST GOD YOUR FATHER, He is able to restore you.
